Nothing was ever easy. Blair laughed nervously. He'd need to be careful. "Well, if I wasn't, why would I ever say that I was?"

"If you're a cat," Jenny began as she let go of her necklace. "If you're a cat, where are your ears, your tail, your ball of yarn?" She grinned. "If you're a cat," she laughed nonchalantly, "then so am I!"

Blair lowered his voice, ignoring the goosebumps that rose across his flesh. "Under your hat are a pair of black ears. And I saw them." A chill washed past the two as the sun started its descent across the sky.

Jenny's heart stopped beating, but she kept smiling. Except it was more of a strain now. "Okay, let's say you're right." She lowered her voice. "I'm a cat. Look," she watched the humans. "I'm not sure if you are or not, but I really am. Just don't give me away. I'm not getting taken away." Her eyes hardened, something they hardly ever did.

Heh. What to do now? Sure, he'd found out that she was a cat, but what after that? "I'm...," he looked down, focusing more on the wooden panels of the seat rather than face that icy gaze. "I'm not going to... turn you in or anything. Like I said, I'm just like you... more or less." Jade eyes turned back to her, staring intently, determinedly into the onyx before him. "I'm. Just. Like. You."

Jenny grinned, a real one this time. "I get it, I see. So," she chuckled. "Can I see your ears?" She leaned back, relaxed. The Captain would find this story funny, whenever she went back home. Jenny laughed to herself. She should have known he was a cat. Humans were more normal about being human. "Since you saw mine." She poked a finger through her mushroom hat. The first one she had made, and it had a lot of holes. She should have known people could see through it.

Clasping his hands together, he stretched his arms out forward. With a grin, he said, "You'll have to feel for them. They're under my hair."

Jenny shook her head and reached over. She pat Blair's head until she felt his ears. They wiggled slightly. "Okay, I trust you." She pulled her hands back and scratched her own head. Her ears were still itchy, she thought to herself. Hopefully no one else was watching. "So, how did you change? I was at a picnic with the Cat Club and my friend Pickles. He's not a member, really, but he helps us quite a bit. All the members were there sadly. The President, Junior, Torent, everyone. We all changed like this."

Blair sighed. "Well, I was taking a nap in an alley, when this, I don't know, something[/b] woke me up. I just like, knew, something was off. I fainted. Woke up like this." He ran elongated fingers through his flaxen locks. "You know, garbage is whole lot less appealig once you're human."

Jenny nodded understandingly. "That's why I live with the Captain. He's the nicest human I know. Not that I know many. Where do you live?" Then she grinned. "I mean, that's not why I live with the Captain. I've lived with him for a long time."

He smiled back. "Here. I know it isn't much but," he let out a laugh. "But, it's home." Blaise grinned. "I'm should head back. It's getting late. See ya." And he traipsed across the lawn, heading toward some distant point.

Jenny sat on the bench, leaning forward slightly. She wasn't going any time soon. The Captain knew she hardly ever came home these days, but she knew when she did he'd have food ready for her. She felt at ease. It was nighttime and although there was no moon, she still felt pretty good. She leaned back with an inaudible sigh and closed her eyes. She realized this was about the time the Cat Club would meet. She pulled off her hat and wiggled her ears in the cool air. Night, Captain... she thought before taking a quick nap.
