"Should I compare thee to a summer's day?" Blair began with loving eyes toward the snow cone clasped between his hands.

It was beautiful day outside, and the park was brimming with people. He liked people. All of them. Even the nasty vindictive type. They were all so funny with their non-essential essentials and their 'psycho-babble' (a term he still had yet to discern other than that it may've been meant as an insult).

Jenny sat on a bench watching the person talking to a snow cone. She had a hat on today, she called it her mushroom hat. Her red scarf was around her neck. She was leaning back with her tail under her. It hurt a little, but she had to hide it. It was so long. Her black ears were itchy. She reached up to scratch them, hoping no one would see her.

He sat beneath an old rowan tree, as newly formed toes absentmindedly wrestled the tall grass.

Blair paused, feeling the familiar sensation of a stare. Well, he was getting quite a few of those, stares, but, this one was more "intent." He turned his head to see a scarf wearing girl, looking at him.

She appeared vastly uncomfortable, squirming in her seat, trying, and failing to discreetly scratch her.. ears? He realized full and well that it could simply be his imagination, what with the shadows the sun played on the mind, but... that had to be... those had to be... ...Someone just like him...

Jenny noticed the boy was watching her. She adjusted her hat and smiled. Act normal, act normal, she thought. No ears, her smile said. I'm human as humans can be.

The girl bagan to smile. At him. He felt heat rush to his face, realizing he'd been caught staring. He returned the smile with a wary grin of his own, which belatedly, he noticed came off as more of a smirk. He stood, abruptly, with little grace, and walked (gaily he hoped) toward the bench.

Jenny grimaced inwardly as the human came over to sit near her. Things like this should be avoided. The Captain had warned her against being too open. Jenny tightened her scarf and crossed her arms. She wasn't going to give anything away. She'd be... well, human.

Not... what he expected. Wasn't that smile suppossed to be welcoming, if nothing else? Who gave out random blinding beamers just to do a 180 and go all, antisocial? Not one to be discouraged, he figured he'd start the conversation... if any. "Hey," he said with a warm smile.

Jenny coughed politely. "Hi," she replied. She reached out for a handshake, a highly human gesture. "Who are you? I'm Jenny. Jenny Linsky." Is this really all there is to being human? Jenny thought. Being a cat is much more complex. Hopefully, this guy wouldn't see through her charade.

He held her soft slender hand and pressed it against his lips. "Blair Madin. The pleasure is all mine." That's what they said in the movies anyway. The brunet still got this sense of apprehension from his benchmate.

Jenny pulled her hand away. "Right." She moved down the bench. "You wouldn't mind not doing that would you? I'm not too fond of all these things humans do. Like handshakes. What hapened to paw-" Jenny's eyes widened. Oops, she thought to herself. I just let the cat out of the bag. She tried to cover it up. "Ha. Because I'm an alien. Haha!" She laughed drily, her hand moving to hold her necklace. Captain, she thought. Help!

Blair released a low chuckle. Ah. So he was right. Awesome. "Hey, it's okay. I get it." he said, impervious to the obvious discomfort the other was showing. "I'm like you. Sort of." he said in his most reassuring voice. It was a bit discomfitting, how she grasped the chain about her neck. Nervous. "I mean, I'm not gonna hurt you... or anything" he finished lamely. He couldn't think of what else to say.But maybe... honesty would work? "I'm a cat!" he blurted loudly, shrinking into himself at the multitude of passerby stares.

Jenny paused. I'm a cat. "What? You're a what?" Maybe it was a trap. Maybe not. "Well, most cats have four legs. You only have two." She raised one eyebrow. She had said most cats. She knew there were others, but she also knew the scientists were trying to find them. She laughed to herself. This guy sure didn't look like a scientist.
